Together Stronger Celebration - 22nd Sept

posted 11 Oct 2007 in event review | 1 comments

What a great Wedding Day! The Sanctuary was full to overflowing. Church members, family, friends, visiting ministers and the Mayor of Salford - Clr Valerie Burgoyne along with her consort, Clr Eric Burgoyne - and many others, joined together in this historic day in the life of World Harvest Bible Church!

The setting was festive with the church dressed with wedding decorations, balloons and flowers. The 'Together Stronger' Wedding service began with a rousing time of praise and worship, after which the Pastors shared the history of their individual churches and explained the significance of the Wedding day. The two church congregations spoke 'Covenant Vows' to one another. Then 10 leaders drawn from each church then joined in lighting a candle of unity representing the two churches becoming one.

Pastor Clive Urquhart had come from Horsham, West Sussex to deliver a keynote message to the church, which followed a video clip of blessing from Pastor Colin Urquhart, in which he stated his fullest support of the churches coming together. Pastor Clive then prayed for the pastors and spoke a powerful word over the church, Pastor Matt, Pastor Julie, Pastor Alan and Pastor Claire.

The Lady Mayor of Salford shared her pleasure in the churches coming together, noting the scope and impact of the two churches' contribution over the past ten years into many significant aspects of community life, including care for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. Then two senior pastors from other churches were invited to pray for the impact of this new and stronger church on the city, region and the World.

Finally, the pastors joined by the Mayor cut the cake to sounds of celebration as the children all set off their poppers and shouted at the top of their voices! Everyone then assembled outside for the Wedding photos, full of joy and praise for what the Lord has done.

It would be great to hear how you enjoyed the day - please take a moment and let us know. the end.
