The stage was transformed into a Winter Wonderland as Charlie & Melissa (Abraham & Alison) met Snowflake and Icicle (Bex & Becky) and heard the story of Christmas.
The production opened with a party and then a street scene with shoppers, Father Christmas and even a reindeer! So professionally done that I felt like I was sitting in a £20 theatre seat.
As Charlie & Melissa were transported to the Wonderland we were treated to a ballet dance by Helen, Natalia, Camilla and Jasmine. It was beautiful and very magical. There was a hush over the whole auditorium as we were mesmerised by the hidden talent we were watching.
Helen Mulhall, who led the production also wrote the script, which conveyed in perfect simplicity the true message of Christmas, including a solo by Abbey playing Mary.
As well as writing the script, Helen also designed the whole stage and with the fantastic support of her mum, Anne, designed all the costumes. They were also ably helped by Donna at many rehearsals, Natalia with the dances and by Phil on the sound and lighting.
Well done, to all the dancers as well from both GoKidz and FFWD. We had a celebration dance at the beginning, a thorns and flowers dance and even angels dancing as well as singing Glory to God.
The finale included a solo by Liz who was then joined by all the cast.
A big thank you to everyone involved, too many of you to name individually here, but we are especially grateful for all the time you have given.
This production has well and truly set a standard. So what other hidden talents to we have amongst us – anyone up for Riverdance?
