This Weeks Chapters: Matt 16-20
Pastor Julie Beemer
Are you ready for a romantic article to start your week off?
Growing up I had always been encouraged to pray for my future spouse. I also was encouraged to give my heart only to the Lord throughout my single years and pray about friends especially male friends. Giving this huge area of my life to the Lord was very easy. I had such confidence that God was my true Father because I didn’t have an earthly Father to depend on. I even knew that God would provide for my wedding like any good Father would.
So many times I would watch the Lord divert very seemingly wonderful guys from befriending me. At the time I would feel that something was wrong with me but in the end I saw that God had kept me from potentially dangerous or wrong friendships. I endeavoured to be obedient to His voice but occasionally I would push His boundaries. I can only imagine how many times He kept me, His precious daughter from making a wrong decision. Thank you Lord!!
Finally the day came when I met a very wonderful guy named Matthew Beemer. We began enjoying each others company so immediately my heart searched for Gods will even for our friendship. One day Matt and I were visiting some friends and I was not even thinking about my Destiny when I heard the voice of the Lord come up from my heart concerning Matt! The words were so clear and specific! He said,” This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased!” I knew immediately that the Lord had stamped His approval on our relationship.
A few years ago as I was spending time with the Lord I was telling the Lord, “Thank you” for Matt and I was reminded that this verse was the same exact words that he had spoken over Jesus His very own Son. WOW! I was so blessed that I had a good Father that took care of me!
When I pray for my children now I feel as though I have 4 children. Jonathan, Elisabeth and their future spouses.
I am confessing things over their lives even now as they grow, placing Gods word over their hearts and minds.
God watches over His word to perform it ! - Tell me what you are declaring over your life!

- Tanya Burch Dear Pastor Julie,
- Pastor Alan Claire & I often remind our kids "not to waken love before it so desires" (Song of Songs 2 v7) but that is only the start of the process.
- Karen W Thanks Pastor Julie, I have always been convinced that great marriages are 'made in Heaven' in the true sense that when we trust God He will work all things together for good for us in this very important area of our lives. Marriage is such a precious thing to God as it reflects the relationship of Jesus with the church, and our marriages should be an example to all those around us as we live out our faith. I'm going to spend the rest of this week praying especially that God will strengthen all the marriages in our church, present and future!
- jane fern We do some great teaching in bible school on marriage as well as great teaching on being single. Just taking an opportunity for a plug! Seriously I love being married, I enjoyed being single, and I love praying for our 3rd generation - not seen yet, don't get excited. But I think I know a few people who are about to expand the place of our tent very soon. I see a bumper baby dedication coming on do you. We also train you in the bible school how to orgaise things like baby dediations (sorry can't resist the plugs!)
- Joanna Mitchell Hello Pastor Julie,
- Becci Hey Pastor Julie,
- Stephane Shefer (Roles) Hi,
Thank you ever so much for the straight talk on such a delicate matter! We need more mothers in the House of the Lord to share their heart in this way.
Much love and many blessings to all the Beemers.

Trusting in the Lord to prepare the right person is the main part. With listening to Him being the final part.
Keep on encouraging us with "romantic" themes because we need to look forward with expectancy in every area of our lives.

Thanks for your story. I had a similar experience with my husband and I asked God to 'keep me' for the right guy and from wrong relationships. There were times I wish I hadn't prayed that but very glad now! I also pray for my children's future spouses and teach my kids about trusting God for their marriage partners. My kids are only 8 and 9 but I believe it's important to train your kids early so they will also walk with the Lord later! Besides which my children ask questions!
Pray for you guys every day. Hope all your plans are going well.
love from Joanna x (We are new to the church)

Thank you so much for this encouragement! There is so much relationship teaching in churches today that just doesn't hit the mark, so many rules and regulations that are imposed, (athough some are needed!!!) so much pressure for people to "get it right" that I think a lot of Christians, teenagers especially, just give up on it all, feeling that they can never reach the standards and expectations projected!
This is a brilliant word, very refreshing! Thank you

Pastor Julie,
Thank you for your wise words. I'm learning(still) to trust the Lord for a husband in His time. After so many times of trying to 'make things' happen and paying the price I've finally given this over to the Lord(it's never too late!). Your word is so encouraging and touches my heart more than you know. I pray for you and pastor Matt, the childen and the Lords work you are doing. May the Lord bless you and keep you, may his face shine upon you continually.
Much love to you all in Jesus name.
Steph
