This Week’s Chapters: Heb 2 - 6
Pastor Matt Beemer
Every week the Pastors will be commenting on the chapters we are reading. This week we’re in Hebrews which is one of my favourite books. If you have never read Andrew Murray’s book, Holiest of All – I highly recommend it!
There’s something amazing in nearly every verse – so picking one to comment on this week is quite hard. However, Chapters 3 & 4 stand out as special chapters to me. They describe how Israel could have entered the Promised Land by faith but they didn’t. Especially note the following…
Heb 4:1 - "Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it."
Lesson: So we can hear the Word, but if we do not mix it with faith, it will not profit us! In this light, this week determine that whatever God speaks to you while reading your chapters, or what he speaks to your heart – believe it and let it govern your actions!
I would love to hear which verse stands out to you as you breathe daily with God this week!

Breathing Daily with God is an opportunity for the Pastors to share their thoughts on the chapters we have been reading in our daily bible reading plan.Email this to a friend | Add A Comment | Bookmark | Subscribe

This was an excellent word. I enjoyed the fact that this topic was so layered that it was easy to follow and to understand. Faith is such an important topic since the life of a believer cannot exist without it. A more practical approach about the teaching of faith need to be introduced so that many for for years had not agreed or understood the faith message would see the value and necessity for it. I enjoyed this teaching and look forward to more. The way faith was mixed with love in this sermon made it stand out as exceptional.

This reminds me of Rom 1:20. That part was skipped last weekend during the “Ga Heen miniconference” in the Netherlands. But I managed to grab hold of your slides and can truly dig deeper.
God Bless. Manfred

You talk about believing and let it govern our actions.... I have been reminded to take it further and say out loud what God says to me during my daily reading!! So often God says something and I just forget. But by speaking it out it helps me to remember what God has said!! It stirs me up!
