Isaiah 1: 7

Isaiah wrote his prophecies around 700BC at a time when Homer's Illiad had just been written, Rome was in the process of being founded, Israel was about to be invaded and conquered. Isaiah prophesied all that happened. At a time of upheaval God spoke clearly.

To a people in rebellion, doing their own thing, setting their own version
of morality (much like today) God brought correction through his prophet.
That warning came with encouraging promises of reconciliation.
Isaiah 1 v18 Come now, let us reason together... if you are willing and
obedient
Today this same cry comes from the Lord to people everywhere ... through
us! The gospel is both a warning and an encouragement ... a sword
(destruction) is coming! Don't get caught on the wrong side!
God's heart for us comes through again and again ... the Branch of the
Lord will be beautiful and glorious (Isaiah 4 v2). The promise of
washing away the filth and bloodstains and the promise of being led by the
Lord in clear ways cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by
night (Isaiah 4 v5) speak of an attitude of love that is constant and
unchanging.
As we read through these passages allow God to show you his love and
compassion, his heart for you. Hear his voice in your heart speaking
words of encouragement ... and direction.
Jesus said My sheep know my voice (John 10 v27) as we read through these
scriptures we can have the boldness to expect Jesus to speak to us today
concerning events around us. The scripture that he brings to our minds as
we pray at the start of the day is often formative of the day. Whether
they are words of peace or strength or warning against sin.
Isaiah is incredibly prophetic. Expect a clarity of hearing the NOW
word of God for the day as you read these passages. What you expect and
ask for, you will get!!

Thanks
Alan the end.
