This Weeks Chapters: Acts 2 - 6

"But you shall receive power (explosive, dynamic and full of phenomenal ability) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and the ends (the very bounds) of the earth. " - Acts 1:8
How exciting that we are finally in the Book of Acts!! Talk about an adventure. This group of people were definitely living an 'out of the box' experience. They had never seen how it should be done, there was not a 'how to do what Jesus said' manual. They were simply given instructions for a very short time and then at the place where they had to start doing it. They had to make what they heard a living reality. I'm sure they had no clue their stories would be published for the entire world to see. Their lives were on show just for our benefit so we could learn from them.
While Jesus was with them in Acts 1 He gave some more instruction. This instruction would help them to follow all the instructions. He said to stay in Jerusalem and wait for what the Father had promised. When they would do this they would receive POWER to do all that He said. That word Power is from the word dunamis which means dynamite. It describes a power that is explosive, dynamic, and full of phenomenal ability. They could do it because the Father had given them supernatural power. Immediately after this we see some incredible things happening. Each of them took this so seriously and were so full of this power, that history records each of the disciples taking the known world and dividing it up amongst themselves and setting off to make the Gospel known.
I know Matt & I are in the midst of writing our own Book of Acts!! Everyday we are adding stories to our book. All of you will be in our book! Mine will definitely have tons of pictures!!
We are all writing our own Book of Acts. What we do now will be on view, maybe not through ink and paper but even more visible through our families, our children and our contribution to this generation. We must be obedient to what God says! Just like the disciples, we will only be able to accomplish our specific God-given assignments when we do just what they did in the Book of Acts. Receive the Power!!!

Hi philip, tracey, daisy mae and hannah grace!!! We love you guys and thank you for taking that part of the world for us and with us!!! You 4 are doing a tremendous job! Thank you for writing an adventurous book of acts that we will be able to read.
