Frequently asked questions

What kind of a church is WHBC?

We are a Bible-based church with a contemporary, charismatic style of worship. We believe in vital worship and the power of God. Our desire is to teach the Bible in an, ‘Oh, I get it’ way. God made it easy to be a follow of Jesus… it’s man that complicates things! So we strive to keep things simple, easy, relevant and fun!

We are known for our teaching and worship – as well as helping people to be the very best they can be in God. Everything we do we do with purpose and faith. We have big God who’s given us a BIG vision and the grace and wisdom to know how to get there. This confidence in our God-given purpose overflows into the personal lives of all who call WHBC home.

Give WHBC one faithful year and you’ll never be the same! Come experience the reality of God’s salvation power and discover how fun and rewarding a vital personal relationship with Jesus Christ can be.

What can I expect when I visit WHBC on a Sunday?

A warm and friendly atmosphere, real people who love God and love people! Great worship and relevant teaching of the Bible that will help you find and live out God’s will for your life.

Will I fit in?

YES!!! We accept everyone just as they are! We are a church of incredible variety which makes it easy for anyone to fit in! So if you’re investigating the Christian Faith for the first time, a new or young Christian, or a mature well-seasoned believer you’ll feel right at home. However, it take a few weeks to get a true feel for things and inevitably one service might ‘fit you’ better than others. So come for 3-4 Sundays and we are confident you’ll find yourself fitting right in!

Will my family like it?

We are committed to the spiritual development of your entire family and offer incredible faith-filled anointed ministry for all ages! Many times the children are found dragging their mum’s and dad’s out of bed on a Sunday because they are so excited about church! For more information about our Children’s and Youth Ministries, take a look at our ‘All Age’ Section.

Is WHBC part of a denomination?

No. We are an independent church. However, there is a strong accountability structure in place (see the next question).

Who are the leaders of WHBC accountable to?

Accountability has several dimensions here at WHBC.

  • Trustees: provide accountability before the charity Commission.
  • Financially: We have an independent audit.
  • Operationally: The Core Leadership Team provides accountability to all the Coaches and Team Leaders.

Pastor Alan and Claire provide personal accountability to the Core Leadership Team members, as well as there being mutual accountability amongst the Core Leadership Team.
