Autumn brings amazing changes to the trees & landscapes around us. The variety of colours the leaves take on almost makes up for the rainy days & grey skies.

Even on a single tree the different shades are astounding.

As we read through Isaiah 60 & 61 God refers to the work he does in us to produce people that are “a planting for the display of his splendour”

In other words the things God calls us to, the circumstances we find ourselves in, the daily events are all a photo shoot!!!

Every good photographer sets up the photo to display a theme, a person or event in such a way that people understand what they are supposed to look at.

A bad photo is one that is out of focus; the alignment is off; too close or too far away; too colourful or too dull. The list is endless but the result is the same … we just don’t want to look at it!!

The first condition that every good photo needs is the right light – Isaiah 60:1 “your light has come … the glory is on you”. Light always makes things attractive. God’s light makes us attractive to other people.

The second condition for producing good photos is the composition of the shot, the arrangement of the different items or people to be seen. Isaiah 61:10 God “clothes us with salvation, adorns us with righteousness”.

The third condition that turns an ordinary photo into something amazing is the theme, the message! What does the photo convey to the person looking at it. Isaiah 61 clarifies the message. It is all about healing, speaking & releasing people!

God wants each one of us looking so good that other people are stopped in their tracks by the level of God’s glory revealed in us through ordinary circumstances that produces extraordinary results.

Isaiah 60:21-22 “They (We) are the shoot I have planted, the work of my hands, for the display of my splendour. The least of you will become a thousand, and the smallest a mighty nation”

As we devote ourselves to the Lord through reading the word we can understand new ideas & get ready for new adventures … all to display God’s splendour!!!
